St. George Vacation

Our vacation started on Sat. Oct. 18th. We drove to St. George. Rich, Jacee and me in our car and Garrett and Skyler in front of us in Garrett's car. We arrived around 4ish and checked into the condo. Then we went over to Bill and Paula's house for dinner. They made hamburgers and hot dogs. It was delicious. Grandma Rawson was there and Kelly Bergstrom and her cute boys. On Sunday we hung out at the pool and then went to Grandma's house for dinner. She made ribs and they were divine!!
On Monday we headed to Zion's Canyon. It was beautiful!!

This is taken on our way out of the canyon.

This is in Rockville, just outside of Zions. Another sweet pic of the 3.

My honey in Rockville. You are such an amazing man!! You are so good to all of us!! Thank-you for all you do for us!! Thank-you for a wonderful vacation! I love you, so much!!

This picture is taken on Tuesday. Rich had to go into Salt Lake to work, so, the 3 and I decided to go to a ghost town, Skyler found on a brochure in our condo. So, we got a map and headed out. It said on the brochure that it was 30 minutes from St. George. To make a long story short, we took a wrong turn and ended up in Arizona. This was after driving for at least an hour, maybe longer.
We finally found it. It was called Grafton. It was actually on the was to Zions, just outside of Rockville. This is the cemetery. It was really sad. Alot of the headstones were for babies. Pres. Brigham Young sent people to Grafton to settle and plant cotton. Cotton did really well there. There were indians and alot of the settlers were killed by them. That's when Pres. Young had them move to bigger settlements with at least 150 men. So, they loaded up their families and moved to Rockville. The men went back to Grafton everyday to tend to their crops. After 2 years they all moved back to Grafton.

Some of the headstones were so old you couldn't even see the names and dates. These are wooden ones. Alot of the headstones had "Faith in every Footstep" emblems on them. Handcart pioneers!! It was so neat to see all that history.

This is the Church house/school. They've been restoring it.
One of the houses that is still standing. Can you imagine living is something this small?! We are sooo spoiled.
The 3 outside the Church/school.
Another house, in the distance. I love this picture. I'm such a professional! (trust me, it was by accident)

A trantuala on our way out of Grafton. If interested, you can check out the website it tells all about the town. Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid was filmed in Grafton. The last settler left in 1945. http://www.graftonheritage.org/ If you get the opportunity, you should go! It was amazing!

Surgery Monday, Sept. 22

This is my honey, right before his surgery to remove some basil cell carsinoma from his nose.
The red spot by his eye where the carsinoma starts.
Post surgery. He was still very groggy! He doesn't do well with anisthesia, and we had to keep reminding him to breath. He was very anxious to get home. I don't blame him, hospitals aren't fun!! I'm just glad it's gone, and they got it all!! Thank-you Dr. Kajr. (pronounced care) I love you, my honey!!
